Mac Based Internet Access Center Established at Adult Community Center of Sedona Volunteer Helpers Needed The Adult Community Center of Sedona is completing installation of two Macintosh Computers with high speed Internet access as part of a statewide program to improve the availability and accessibility of technological capabilities provided to older persons in facilities such as the Adult Community Center of Sedona. It is part of a joint project of the State Aging and Adult Administration and the eight Area Agencies on Aging.
This project will serve to expand the availability of computers in senior centers, ensure Internet accessibility for seniors who visit Senior Centers, and facilitate statewide communication in the aging network and among interested individuals through e-mail.
Volunteers are needed, on a by-appointment basis, to show seniors and others at the Community Cent the basics of using the Macintosh computer on the internet and the basics for accomplishing simple writing tasks using Claris Works. Our club has offered to help find volunteers for this task.
Any club member or interested individual who can spare a few hours per month on this project, amount of time up to the individual, is encouraged to contact the Adult Community Center for more details. Call Brenda at 282-2834.
